How to Choose the Right Conference Table for Your Company’s Meeting Room
Conference tables are a staple of office furniture in the meeting rooms of major companies and organisations. Internal staff use them to discuss matters, whilst business partners use them to negotiate deals; consequently, conference tables in company meeting rooms play a particularly important role. Whilst there are now many different brands and styles of conference tables available on the market, the majority of clients opt for bespoke conference tables, as these can effectively highlight a company’s unique characteristics and corporate image.
However, many clients often have questions before commissioning a bespoke conference table: how should a company’s conference table be customised, and what factors should be taken into account? Based on our past marketing experience, Zhihon has summarised the following three points.
1. Characteristics of Companies and Organisations
Office furniture reflects the characteristics of a company or organisation to a certain extent. The customisation of conference tables varies from one organisation to another. For example, government bodies and schools generally opt for conference tables made of solid wood with a painted finish or solid wood veneer, and some traditional companies and organisations also choose this style; whereas more modern companies tend to select stylish conference tables. It is therefore important to take the company’s characteristics into account when customising conference tables.
2. The Nature of Corporate Meeting Rooms
Even within the same organisation, there may be meeting rooms designed for different purposes, such as small group meeting rooms, staff meeting rooms, departmental meeting rooms and boardrooms. The styles of these rooms will differ, and consequently so will the choice of conference tables. For instance, a small group conference table may be compact, modern and minimalist, whilst a boardroom table should exude grandeur and solemnity. This distinction is particularly important in organisations with a clearly defined hierarchy, where the customisation of conference tables must be tailored accordingly.
3. The Size of the Company’s Meeting Rooms
The size of meeting rooms varies from company to company and can generally be categorised as large, medium or small. When customising a conference table, the overall size of the meeting room must be taken into account; customising without due consideration may result in the room feeling either too cramped or too spacious. Therefore, before customising a conference table, it is essential to conduct an on-site survey to ascertain the exact dimensions of the meeting room and to customise a table of appropriate dimensions based on the available space.
Generally speaking, the three points mentioned above are taken into account when selecting a conference table; however, each situation must be analysed on a case-by-case basis. Only by tailoring the table to the company’s specific requirements can the best results be achieved.
